Spooky tour of Worthing
Should you be frightened of Ogee Heads or a Dish of Tongues?
What about Knuckerholes or Devil's Children?
Or even Pacy's Bloodhole or the Friends of Hectate?
To find out the answers to these and many other spooky questions, join the Insurance Institute of Sussex as they take part in this walk around the town of Worthing, finding out about its spooky past and present!
Led and organised by Mortimore Spirimawgus, this walk will start at 7pm on Wednesday 31 October 2018, from outside Worthing Pavilion Theatre. Over the next 90 minutes the tour will wander slowly around the town (covering a total distance of about 2km) before ending where it started, outside the theatre.
If you would like to join us for this "frightfully" good evening of eerie stories, places and people on Halloween, please book by clicking on the Book Now button below.
We are offering members and their guests (no under 8's please) a discounted adult rate of just £5 per person*.
Please note, this is a public event which is organised and run by Kevin Newman. The route is suitable for wheel chair users. As it takes place outside, it will entail some walking over uneven ground (cobbles) and is weather-dependent, so may be cancelled in the event of heavy rain on the day. Please supply a mobile number when booking so that we can contact you at short notice if it is necessary to cancel. A full refund will be offered in these circumstances.
We have been advised that the content of this tour is family friendly and generally suitable for anyone aged 8 and over, but please let us know the age of anyone under 16 at time of booking.
*The published adult price is £7.50 and for children under 16, it is £5 each. We are offering this event to all members and their guests at £5 each irrespective of age.
Limited free parking is available along the seafront of Worthing from 6pm onwards or the Civic Centre car park (in Stoke Abbott Road, BN11, 1HE) is a 10 minute walk away and is free in the evenings. Other car parks in the area operate charges until 10pm each evening.
If travelling by public transport, the theatre is a 15 minute walk away from Worthing Station and there is a regular bus service to the theatre from Brighton (number 700).
