    • Jack Balchin, Chef, Ashdown Manna Cookery School

Are you a budding home cook who is keen to learn new recipes - or would you simply like to brush up on your culinary skills?

Whatever your abilities in the kitchen, join us for a fun evening of cooking as Jack Balchin, professional chef at Ashdown Manna Cookery School walks you step by step through an exciting meal (including an optional dessert) - all prepared by you, in the comfort of your own home!

During this Zoom masterclass, Jack will show you how to make a classic potato Gnocchi from scratch and then use this to make a delicious Sausage, Spinach & Gnocchi bake.

You will then be able to cook along with Jack as he shows you exactly how to make a zingy Lemon Polenta Cake with a Limoncello Syrup.

Preparation time should take about 2 hours for both courses (or 1.5 hours if you just want to make the Gnocchi bake) - so you will be finished just in time for a fabulous, home made supper!

Online Booking
If you would like to cook along with Jack, please use our online booking system by clicking on the Book Now button below. The cost (excluding ingredients) is just £5 - which the Insurance Institute of Sussex will donate to The Insurance Charities.

Important Information
This cookery masterclass is brought to you by Ashdown Manna Cookery School and will be delivered using Zoom technology. You will need to make sure that you have an accessible device that can be used where you are preparing your food to get the most out of this course. We will send out the Zoom link two days before the event takes place.

In order to give everyone time to prepare for this event, bookings will close on Monday 28 February 2022.

We will send a full list of ingredients, etc. out to our budding cooks shortly after bookings close. The cost of ingredients will obviously depend on what supplies you have in your cupboards and where you shop, but should cost no more than about £10 for the main course and £9 for the dessert (each course should serve 4 people).

These recipes can be readily adapted to cater for most allergies and can be modified to be suitable for vegetarians. The recipes do though include ingredients which will make them unsuitable for vegans. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know on the booking form so we can make sure the chef can suggest suitable alternatives.

This event is subsidised by the Insurance Institute of Sussex, so is only open to CII/PFS members. Please make sure you have your membership number to hand, as this will be needed when booking.
