Ben from Allianz is coming to talk to members to provide insight and valuable information on Marine Cargo Insurance.

'Transhipment' , 'Barratry', 'Groupage'. With technical jargon like this, you could be forgiven for thinking that Marine Cargo insurance is complex. This session will attempt to show that placing Cargo insurance can however be just as straightforward and accessible as other general insurance business.

Ben joined the insurance industry in 2010 following university and has worked in both underwriting and business development. He is currently a senior underwriter within Allianz’s speciality division and is product owner for their Marine Cargo proposition. Having obtained chartered insurer status in 2014, he recently held the position of president for the Insurance Institute of Mid-Kent.

At the end of this event, the delegate will be able to identify and apply the following :

  2. The Marine Cargo insurance market and cover

  3. Marine Cargo insurance distribution and development

  4. Underwriting considerations and claims

  5. A look at how brokers can develop new cargo business

There will be time for questions and to share views and experiences with the group, to build an understanding of this technical cover.

We meet at 5.30pm at the Hub on the first floor for complimentary tea/coffee with the talk commencing at 6.00pm til about 7.00pm in one of the adjacent meeting rooms.
