There is an increasing interest in RCA’s from both Brokers and Insurance companies with much talk of the ‘average’ clause being removed where the BSI is made equal to the RCA. This provides some interesting competitive differentiation as well as helping to meet TCF requirements etc. Nigel has spent the last 30 years working in or supplying services to the Insurance industry. Having started in the Life Industry, he then worked for Ernst & Young’s Insurance team (becoming Cap Gemini E&Y) His focused has been leading change and prior to joining the Board of RiskStop Group, he spent 10 years working for RSA in a variety of change roles which include leading Global Consulting (RSA’s Risk Consulting team). Nigel joined the Board of RiskStop Group in 2014 and is responsible for Business Development – RiskStop Group is an organisation dedicated to providing innovative Risk Management solutions in and around the Insurance Sector , based in Poundbury Dorchester RiskStop is the UK’s largest Independent provider of Risk Management Services to the UK Commercial Insurance Sector. Faye joined DAC Beachcroft in 2001 as a paralegal. She has experience of defending a wide variety of Motor, Employers Liability, Public Liability and Industrial Disease claims. She qualified in 2008 via the CiLEX route, becoming an Associate in 2011 and Partner in 2015. She currently runs the Motor Injury tam in our Newport office and specialises in handling chronic pain and fatal claims. She instigated and developed the Motor Way training programme and regularly leads seminars. Advising Vulnerable Clients Nigel Merchant Technical Sales Manager at Kings Court Trust We are delighted to welcome Nigel Merchant from Kings Court Trust to talk to us this month. At some point in your professional career you are likely to be engaged with clients who could be deemed to be in a vulnerable state. This hour long seminar will introduce some of the key issues that professionals need to be aware of when dealing with individuals whose judgement may be affected by mental or emotional influences. It will also suggest guidance to help you mitigate the risks involved whilst still delivering sound advice. Nigel has over 35 years experience working in financial services and legal sectors. He joined Midland Bank/HSBC from school and spent 27 years working in client and business facing roles across their branch network, culminating in a role as Branch Manager. In 2006, he joined Kings Court Trust as an office based client adviser. Within 12 months, Nigel’s professional and empathetic approach to customer service saw him promoted to the role of Regional Estate Consultant. Nigel met with and helped bereaved families to understand the options available to them regarding estate administration and probate. He went on to manage the national team of consultants and was responsible for the overall performance of this team. Nigel became Kings Court Trust’s Technical Sales Manager in 2015 with responsibility for delivering training and educational content to their nationwide network of business partners. He works with financial advisers across the country to help them develop the skills, knowledge and expertise.
