President's Message
Welcome to the website of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey.
It is a privilege to serve as President of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey for the 2026-27 term. I would like to begin by thanking Will Woodford for his leadership and dedication over the last three years, and for the significant contribution he has made to our Institute and the wider Guernsey insurance community.
The Insurance Institute of Guernsey has a proud history spanning more than four decades and continues to play an important role in supporting insurance and financial services professionals across the island. With approximately 360 members, many of whom have achieved professional qualifications through the Chartered Insurance Institute and other recognised bodies, we remain committed to promoting professional development, education and excellence within our industry.
A key focus during my presidency will be to build on the strong foundations established by previous councils. We will continue to support members through examination guidance, educational events and continuing professional development opportunities, ensuring that both new entrants and experienced professionals have access to the resources they need to succeed in their careers.
Equally important is the sense of community that the Institute provides. Our social and networking events offer valuable opportunities for members to connect with colleagues, share experiences and build relationships across the industry. I look forward to supporting a varied programme of events throughout the year and continuing our strong relationship with our counterparts in Jersey, exploring opportunities for collaboration and pan-island engagement.
I am particularly keen to hear from our members about how we can continue to evolve and deliver value. Whether you have ideas for educational topics, social events, sponsorship opportunities or ways to increase member engagement, I would welcome your feedback and involvement.
The success of the Institute depends on the enthusiasm and commitment of our volunteers. Serving on Council is a rewarding way to contribute to the profession, develop new skills and expand your network. Whether through a formal Council position or supporting specific events and initiatives, I encourage members to consider getting involved.
Finally, I would like to thank the Council members who generously volunteer their time and expertise to support the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and our membership. Their dedication is essential to everything we achieve.
I look forward to the year ahead and to working with our members to continue strengthening and promoting the insurance profession in Guernsey.
