Important Announcement - Events Moving Online, Postponed or Cancelled

Following the UK Government’s announcement that now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact and unnecessary travel, the Insurance Institute of Guildford is reviewing all events planned for the second quarter of 2020. Ensuring the health and safety of our members is our number one priority during this time.

Therefore all events have either been postponed to later in 2020 or will be cancelled.

We recognise that our primary responsibility as a Local Institute is to provide CPD opportunities for our members and we intend to find ways to continue to deliver this. With this in mind, I’m pleased to be able to confirm that the following CPD events that were scheduled for March and April 2020 will now be delivered as webinars, at the dates and times noted below.

We will continue to monitor the situation in the UK regarding COVID-19, taking advice from the Government and the CII. We will look to make more CPD events available digitally if required and will keep you informed about this.

We have also made the decision to postpone our Charity Golf Day which was due to take place on 7th May 2020. We will advise our members if this event is to be rescheduled for later in the year.

April Examinations

The CII is postponing April written examination sittings that were due to take place on 20, 21 and 22 April these will be postponed until October, with the exception of RO6 (Financial planning practice) and AF7 (Pension transfers) which we are planning to hold in July.

The CII will be confirming these changes with each candidate in due course.

At the current time, in line with government guidance, multiple choice question online examinations will go ahead at the pre-booked centres as there are less than 25 candidates at each sitting.

Our AGM

Finally, we will be holding our AGM on 28th April 2020. Our approach to our AGM will be no different, and we’ll be hosting a webinar for this rather than a meeting in person. Further details will be made available in due course.

If you have any queries over this, then please do get in contact with me, or another member of the Insurance Institute of Guildford Council.

We sincerely wish good health for you and your families during these uncertain times.

Mark Seaton - President of the Insurance Institute of Guildford
