EVENT OVERVIEW

This practical and informative webinar is designed to help individuals take control of their long-term financial future, with a particular focus on retirement planning.

We will explore what retirement truly means beyond finances, encouraging attendees to consider the personal, family, and social aspects that shape later life. The session then breaks down the key sources of retirement income, including state provision, workplace pensions, personal savings, and legacy arrangements.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the session, you should understand:

-          Understand what retirement means from both a financial and personal perspective, including lifestyle and wellbeing considerations

-          Identify the key sources of retirement income, including State Pension, workplace pensions, personal savings, and legacy arrangements

-          Explain how pension contributions work, including the benefits of salary exchange and investment options

-          Recognise the main retirement income options and key planning considerations, including inheritance tax and expected living standards

Take practical steps to improve financial readiness, including reviewing pensions, nominating beneficiaries, and knowing when to seek advice

SPEAKER BIO

In 2015, Adrian joined Mattioli Woods as an Employee Benefits Consultant. Prior to this, he held various positions in the financial services industry, managing corporate clients on behalf of HBOS (Lloyds Banking Group), Santander and Yorkshire Building Society. 

Adrian has also spent a significant part of his career with the industry regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority. While at the FCA, he helped to develop and deliver the regulator’s objectives for financial education, which later became the Money Advice Service, and was actively involved in the Retail Distribution Review. 

Adrian currently lives in Huddersfield with his wife and three children and when not working is an active Yorkshire Masters swimmer.
