Gordon Warren Young Achiever Award

First awarded in 2005 in memory of Gordon Warren, who served our institute with great distinction for over 50 years, we invited nominations to be submitted by the closing date of 31st January 2023.

This award is in place to recognise a young person (under 30 as at 31/12/2022) in the local area that has made the greatest strides forward in their career through outstanding professional development. Nominations are invited and once the closing date has passed, our Prize committee reviewed all nominations to decide on a worthy winner.

We received a large number of nominations from across the insurance and financial sectors, and the judges spent a lot of time deliberating. This was by no means a simple task.

As judges, we were looking for a nominee who:

  • Proactively developed themselves during the last twelve months either through completing institute examinations or through any other form of professional or vocational study, and who has also during the same period:
  • Either successfully contributed to a work-based project of benefit to their business, or
  • Successfully participated in a community-based project that brings the insurance profession into good repute, or
  • Has made a significant contribution to the success of their team with a performance which considerably exceeds the expectations normally associated with someone of their age and experience.

The judges fashioned the nominations down to the final 3 nominees:

  • Sophie Godbold
  • Jonathan Law
  • Cami Hawes-Harlow

After much deliberation, Cami Hawes-Harlow was named as the winner and was presented with the award at the Annual Dinner.

We wish to congratulate Cami on her award, not only for her outstanding contribution within her company, but for her amazing exam results. It is no mean feat undertaking exams and receiving some of the highest grades, as well as making such huge strides in your career!

WELL DONE CAMI!

We also want to congratulate our shortlisted nominees, Sophie Godbold and Jonathan Law. You were nominated due to your amazing achievements within your organisations, who really appreciate all your hard work and you should be so very proud of yourselves. We certainly are.

Finally, a huge congratulations to all the nominees and thanks to all those who made the nominations.

This award is presented on an annual basis, so please look out for further comms at the end of the year on our website for details on how to nominate someone you think would deserve this award next year.
