Construction Insurance remains a highly specialised area of Insurance. 2022 promises to provide further significant challenges and opportunities in Construction insurance. There is the promise of new infrastructure, housing booms and a move towards sustainability while at the same time battling labour and supply chain difficulties and rising costs. Join us in person to discuss some of these challenges with a buffet lunch, Q&A and networking session to follow for all those with an interest in Construction Insurance.

Learning objectives:

- Gain an understanding of the construction contracting process

- Explore the nature of construction risks

- Understand recent industry challenges and interaction with case law

- Discover more about the most frequent damage events and some famous claims

This session will be held in person at Ipswich Town Football Club. There will be a buffet lunch, as well as an opportunity for Q&A and networking.

Who should attend?

This session will be targeted at all insurance professionals with an interest in Construction Insurance, be it, brokers, underwriters or claims professionals.

Speaker Profile: Jason Baston, MSc, CMgr FCMI, DipCII (he/him)

Jason is a senior member of Miller’s large Construction specialty division which is located across Ipswich, Cardiff and London, delivering expert solutions in UK and International Construction, Renewable Energies and Environmental Technologies, Infrastructure, Surety, and Construction Professional Indemnity.

Jason has almost twenty years’ experience working in the UK and overseas on behalf of Lloyds syndicates, insurers and for international brokers in Property and Casualty lines; specialising within UK Construction during the last decade.

Jason works closely with project owners and leaders, internal risk and insurance teams, senior management and broader stakeholders at domestic and international employers, developers, and contractors in both the UK and Ireland, ranging from public bodies, medium to large plc, JV and Private Equity backed organisations.

Jason holds an MSc in Management and Leadership and a BSc in Business Studies. Jason is a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and also holds a Diploma in Insurance with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
