WEBINAR: Overview of Third Party certification and recent changes to British standards in the Security Sector

The National Security Inspectorate were established over 50 years ago in a partnership between insurers and the police to address the issue of false alarms and provide a Register of Approved Companies.

Today NSI are a not-for-profit, wholly independent certification body with stakeholders spanning the Police, Fire, Insurance communities. NSI promotes the value of third-party certification to buyers of security and fire safety services, including commercial, domestic, public sector and the wider public. https://www.nsi.org.uk/

NSI will give an over view of recent changes to key standards operating in the Security Systems and Services sector and explain why third party certification is important to insurers when specifying companies to supply services.

Matthew Holliday, Director of Approval Schemes, National Security Inspectorate (NSI)

Matthew has over 30 years’ experience in the electronic security industry including 12 years representing the electronic security installation sector as a subject expert at BSI and CENELEC. Since joining NSI the premier not-for-profit UKAS accredited certification body operating in the Security and Fire Safety sectors in 2019, Matthew’s responsibilities include managing forthcoming changes to NSI approval schemes, and providing technical expertise to the auditing team and approved companies.

Don Oakley, Director of Business Development , National Security Inspectorate (NSI)

Don has over 35 years’ experience in the commercial insurance and risk management sector prior to joining NSI in 2020. Don’s responsibilities include liaising with Gov, Specifiers & Stakeholders of NSI and is a strong advocate of certification and its role in verifying competence.
