The Future of Commercial Insurance Broking
Please note that Registration and a sandwich lunch will be available from 12:30pm, with the talk commencing at 1:00pm. The Future of Commercial Insurance Broking report was created by co-founder of Konsileo John Warburton alongside the CII and PKF Littlejohn. This report takes a deep dive on how the commercial insurance industry has changed over the last 10 years, as well as looking 10 years into the future and how the industry could evolve over time. Challenges of the current landscape are outlined, along with potential solutions and likely outcomes as insurance moves into the digital world to keep up with other industries and ever-increasing customer expectations. The value of brokers in the value chain is discussed along with potential methods for brokers to future-proof their career and improve client relationships even further than traditional methods commonly used today.

This one day intensive revision course is designed to help you develop your exam technique and knowledge for the M05 Insurance Law module. Led by one of the UK's foremost insurance trainers , Alan Chandler, the syllabus will be explained in plain English with practical examples . All the key case law and statutes will be covered. The day will also include a mock multiple choice test , as well as an interactive opportunity to ask Alan about any areas of the syllabus where candidates are stuck. The workshop is being held on Thursday 7 November at Zurich Croydon, registration 9am for a start at 9:30am and finish at 4:30pm. A sandwich lunch will be provided.

GDPR a Year on – The ICO have just handed out £300m fines are you safe! The seminar will cover the following items: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which is now part of the new Data Protection Act 2018 is having wide ramifications for all firms within the insurance sector and society as a whole. This presentation is a plain English look at how to be GDPR compliant. It is delivered very much from an insurance sector perspective, with appropriate relevant insurance examples being provided. The ICO have recently come out all guns blazing with eye watering fines for BA and Marriott totalling nearly £300m! How compliant is your business? find out what the ICO have been doing for the past twelve months and what they are now saying about the GDPR a year on. The presentation also looks at how the regulators are interpreting this act and some of the cases that have occurred since the introduction of the GDPR. The GDPR has two risks, one is being non-compliant and facing eye watering fines, the other is over restricting your marketing practices and suffocating your business. Many companies have unnecessarily restricted their business activities due to wrong interpretation of the GDPR - this presentation provides examples of how to be compliant but still successfully contact customers. This presentation is appropriate for all members. Underwriters, Claims staff, IFA’s. Loss Adjusters and anyone else who holds client data.
