November Charity Challenge

Miles For Mind

As a council we have been discussing all the ways exercise brings together a community of like-minded individuals, who support & inspire each other on a daily basis. We wanted to harness this support and challenge ourselves to see how many miles we can clock up together from exercising, to help raise money and awareness for this year's presidential charity, Mind.

The annual Norwich CII dinner brings in a large majority of our annual fundraising efforts and with the dinner being cancelled this year, it would be great for us to raise money for Mind and support the wonderful work they do. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems and won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they need and deserve.

By taking part in the challenge, we get to keep fit at the same time as raising money for such a great cause.

We’ll be choosing how we complete the exercise (it could be one exercise or a mixture) and how many miles we are aiming to achieve between 1st November – 30th November 2020. So we’ll be running, walking, cycling, rowing, kayaking or roller blading or any other exercise you ca think of!

Personally, I am going to commit to running 50 miles throughout November, with a goal of raising £1 per mile.

Every £1 sponsored will help Mind continue the amazing work they do to ensure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

We’ll be keeping you all updating with blog post from some of our council members taking part throughout the month. 😊
