Event Overview
Join the Insurance Institute of Norwich for a relaxed and family‑friendly afternoon combining community spirit, charity support and social networking, as we take part in the Grand Norwich Duck Race.
We’ll be hosting drinks and nibbles at the Norwich Playhouse from 3pm to 5pm, giving members the chance to meet, socialise and connect after one of Norwich’s most well‑loved charity events.
This is an informal, in‑person social event, and Norwich CII members are warmly encouraged to bring friends and family along to enjoy the atmosphere and take part in the day.
About the Grand Norwich Duck Race
The Grand Norwich Duck Race is back, and it’s set to be a quacktastic day of family fun! Come and join in with a tradition that’s been part of Norwich life for over a decade. Expect live music, tasty food, face painting, and plenty of games as we gather to watch the amazingly decorated ducks race to victory on the River Wensum. Enjoying a fun, inclusive event open to all ages
Itinerary
12pm: The Duck Parade! Come along and see the fantastic duckorated ducks before they hit the water, all on display on St George’s Bridge. Alongside the river, enjoy live music by Cheryl Davis, a BBQ, games and face-painting.
1pm: The corporate paddleboard race begins! Seasoned experts and paddleboard newbies take to the river in the race to win a headstart in the Duck Derby.
2pm: Time for the main event – the Duckorated Duck Derby! A huge flock of large rubber ducks, each uniquely decorated by local businesses and schools, will race down the River Wensum near Fye Bridge, Norwich.
2:40pm: Last but not least, the Duckling Race begins. Thousands of numbered baby rubber ducks will race in the duck raffle!
3pm – 5pm: Come and join us for drinks and nibbles at the Norwich Playhouse, CII members are warmly encouraged to bring friends and family along to socialise and network with your local council and industry professionals.
