Exam Technique

Clair Hall
Wednesday, 21 September 2016
6:00 pm – 7:45 pm (UK time)

Do you find exams impossible - even if you know your subject?

Do you struggle to understand what the examiner is really looking for?

Do you fail to make best use of your time when sitting exams?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, join us for a free 1.5 hour workshop, led by Richard Cohen, that will begin with a short test under exam conditions on the classic sitcom "Friends". The papers will then be collectively marked and analysed using a CII style marking scheme to see what lessons can be learned for real life general insurance and financial services exams.

By the end of the evening, delegates will have:

  • become familiar with the CII's question styles for written exams
  • identified the different styles of question and how they should be approached
  • improved exam timing technique and how to make best use of the available time
  • learned to avoid common mistakes made by candidates that cost marks
