This practical workshop develops further the theory of risk management, with a focus on its application to commercial insurance risks. It is suitable for experienced staff who need to offer advice or who are already involved in the delivery of such services to customers.

It provides an opportunity to update and refresh their risk management expertise. Delegates should have a knowledge of the principles and practice of commercial property, business interruption and liability insurance.

Learning Objectives

By attending this event, delegates will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an awareness of the wider implications to business risk
  2. Develop a more detailed understanding of the processes involved in assessing business risks
  3. Adapt risk management theory to practical problems encountered in commercial property, business interruption, liability and motor fleet risks
  4. Show an awareness of the purpose of business continuity planning and how it can be carried out in practice
  5. Identify the risk management process, with examples of the main techniques a risk manager will use in identification, analysis, decision making and economic control.
