President's Message

Hello and welcome to the Chelmsford and South Essex CII

I am deeply honoured to accept the position of President for The Institute of Chelmsford & South Essex for this year. Your Institute holds immense value for its members, and I urge each member to actively participate and share their thoughts with us. Your input is crucial in shaping how we can best serve you and maximise the benefits of your membership.I am eagerly looking forward to continuing the progress achieved by Christopher Johnson over the past 12 months, as well as by his predecessors. The Chelmsford & South Essex Institute is proud to have an outstanding council, offering numerous opportunities for members to engage and contribute to their personal and professional development. I am grateful for the unwavering support of our council, which greatly benefits from the wealth of experience within our membership. We have made wonderful progress on many fronts, and we will continue to grow, with a particular focus on culture.

For this year, my nominated charity will be CLAPA. This is personal to myself as I was born with a Cleft Lip and Palate. CLAPA does incredible work supporting children, adults, and families affected by this condition. “1 in 700 babies are born with a Cleft Lip and Palate” Raising awareness and supporting this charity will be a meaningful focus for me throughout my presidency.Among my focuses for the coming 12 months is building on the good culture our institute has and making these area even stronger, key drivers for this will come from working together, networking, engagement and having a together as one attitude.Interested in getting involved? We offer our members the opportunity to share their experiences through our newsletter, or by offering talks or workshops. Whether you are new to the industry or a seasoned professional, if you have knowledge or skills that you would like to share with the local CII community, please do get in touch.

I warmly encourage new members to join us and value feedback from our existing membership. If you're interested in becoming more engaged with your local institute or even serving on the Council, please don't hesitate to reach out.
