Networking Audience Shot

We invite you to join us for an insightful in‑person seminar exploring the often‑overlooked intersection between family law and financial planning with speakers Donna McKay, Legal Director at Brodies and Fiona Sharp, Specialist Family Lawyer at Brodies.

When relationships break down, individuals commonly seek advice from a family law solicitor—typically alongside their financial advisor. What is far less common, however, is seeking family law guidance before making significant financial decisions during a marriage or cohabiting relationship. Many rely solely on financial advice, unaware that certain decisions may carry substantial legal risks. This oversight can prove costly.

Choices made for tax efficiency or business structuring, while financially sound, can inadvertently compromise a person’s legal position if the relationship later ends.

This seminar will highlight why early, integrated advice matters and how proactive collaboration between legal and financial professionals can better protect clients from unintended consequences.

We hope you can join us for this valuable discussion.
