Inheritance Tax

National Skills Academy, Norwich
Tuesday, 12 July 2016
12:30 pm – 1:45 pm (UK time)

We will demystify the rules of the Finance (No 2) Act 2015 which introduced the residence nil rate band which, if satisfied, enables individuals to pass an additional £175,000 to the next generation tax free. Delegates will be taken through worked examples to see how the legislation applies. Particularly tricky areas such as the downsizing provisions and taper relief will be considered.

Learning outcomes:

We will equip delegates with knowledge of the RNRB to enable them to have meaningful conversations with clients about tax planning using the RNRB.

Finally, we will highlight the practical points delegates should bear in mind when giving tax planning advice using the RNRB. What lifetime planning can clients do now to secure the relief? On death, how can clients ensure their estate will qualify for the relief,?
