Annual General Meeting 2026

Your local institute council invites you to attend our 2026 Annual General Meeting on the 23rd April 2026 in order to hear first-hand reports from council members on previous and future activities and vote on the appointment of new council members.
The AGM will be held in person in the Willow Suite at the Holiday Inn, Eastleigh Rd, Eastleigh, SO50 9PG. Parking available on site at the Hotel, but please register your vehicle registration number with reception upon arrival.
The event will begin with a sandwich buffet lunch at 12 with the meeting commencing at 12.30. Please let Claire Smith have any dietary requirements upon booking.
If you feel you could make a positive contribution, it is an ideal first step to becoming involved. If you are interested in joining Council please contact our Secretary Claire Smith (claire.smith@ageas.co.uk)
We will also have a guest speaker Melissa Kidd presenting Part 2 of Developing Confidence at Work. Her presentation will recap some of the key ideas from the webinar on 25th March (sign up here: https://www.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/southampton/home/events/2026/webinars-education-2026/developing-confidence-at-work-part-1), applying this in the context of leadership, team changes, redundancies, how to manage change and the change curve. Melissa with also touch on confidence for future leadership roles and whether it is about confidence, knowledge, rising above the imposter phenomenon or a combo of all plus a bit of time for Q&A.
Whether you want to develop your confidence or understand more about change and how to manage it, this session will be practical and thought provoking.
Melissa has hosted many well received webinars with Southampton, and the wider CII network. Her passion is developing the art of listening, connection and communication helps you to be a better human – inside and outside work. Her background is in psychology and marketing so she has an insight into what makes us tick and how listening and language can effect change.
Our ability to connect with others, build trust, manage conflict, and communicate effectively is more important than ever: job insecurity is rife, AI is on the rise and trust is low.
Motem is built on the belief that the presence of empathy in our relationships means stronger connections, clearer communication and more productive teams.
