What is Next Gen?

Southampton CII Next Gen is a community for members aged 35 and under who want to build their careers and their social networks. Whether you’re brand new to the industry, moving to the area, or simply looking to meet people at a similar stage in their journey, Next Gen is here to help you feel connected, supported and inspired.

Think of it as your local hub for learning, networking, and meeting great people who “get” the early-career experience.

What’s Involved?

We run a mix of CPD sessions, social events, and professional development opportunities designed specifically for young professionals—no boring stuff, we promise.

Our events are relaxed, friendly, and shaped around what you want, such as:

• Bite-sized CPD sessions relevant to your career
• Networking socials (think after-work drinks, quizzes, informal meetups)
• Skills-focused workshops
• Joint events with other young professional groups in the region

Most events take place outside of office hours, so you don’t need to negotiate time off or juggle your diary too much.
