Line managers have a pivotal role in influencing and supporting employee wellbeing, yet many feel unsure how to approach sensitive conversations, what their responsibilities are, or how to balance empathy with boundaries.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Understand the importance of the line manager/employee relationship
• Identify the core responsibilities of the line manager role in relation to mental health, including appropriate boundaries.
• Recognise early warning signs.
• Gain an understanding of a few practical, accessible tools to structure supportive conversations.
• Understand why psychological safety matters and behaviours that help create a supportive team culture.
