Supporting the President’s Chosen Charity: Wessex Cancer Support

The Insurance Institute of Southampton is proud to support Wessex Cancer Support, the President’s chosen charity for 2026/27. For more than 45 years, Wessex Cancer Support has provided free, local, and personalised emotional and wellbeing support to anyone affected by cancer across Dorset, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight.

About Wessex Cancer Support

A cancer diagnosis affects individuals and families in profound and unexpected ways. Wessex Cancer Support exists to ensure that no one in our region faces cancer alone. Since 1981, the charity has delivered compassionate, non‑clinical support in safe and welcoming environments designed to restore wellbeing, confidence, and hope.

Each year, approximately 20,000 people across the Wessex region receive a cancer diagnosis. In response, Wessex Cancer Support offers professional counselling, complementary therapies, support groups, and tailored wellbeing services — meeting people’s needs at every stage of their cancer journey.

Through our fundraising and awareness initiatives this year, the Insurance Institute of Southampton is committed to helping Wessex Cancer Support continue delivering this vital work within our local communities.
