Understanding Transition Scenarios for Climate Disclosures
Wednesday 9 December, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (UK time)
Online
CPD

Growing regulatory expectations, investor scrutiny, European Sustainability regulations and UK Sustainability Disclosure Requirements are driving the need for organisations to assess how the transition to a low-carbon economy could impact business models and financial performance.
This session explains what transition scenarios are, how they translate policy, technology, and market changes into financial risk and opportunity, and how they are used in climate disclosure.
With a focus on the insurance industry, it explores why understanding transition risk is critical for underwriting, asset valuation, capital adequacy, and long-term resilience, and outlines a practical, disclosure-ready approach to scenario analysis.
Learning Objectives -
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
1. What transition scenarios are and how they are used
2. The key drivers of transition risk and their associated financial impacts
3. The three-stage approach required for UK Sustainability Disclosures
4. A suitable methodology for scenario analysis
Please note that the joining instructions for this CPD Event will be emailed to you 24 hours before the event.
