The Event Details

• Date: Saturday, 9th May 2026
• 10:00 AM | The Meet-Up: Meet at the Clifton Observatory. The spring morning light hitting the bridge is perfect for photos.
• 10:15 AM | The "Over & Under" Walk: We’ll cross the bridge, dip into the peaceful silence of Leigh Woods, and loop back along the River Avon towpath.
• 11:15 AM | The Village Ascent: A steady climb back up through the valley, finishing just as the village starts to buzz.
• 11:30 AM | The Grand Finale: We’ll finish at East Village Café for well-earned coffee and bakes.

Walk Stats & Prep

• Distance: Approximately 3.5km (2.2 miles).
• Terrain: A varied mix of paved walkways, gravel paths, and forest trails. Expect some steep steps and potentially muddy slopes in the woods.
• Suggested Attire:
  • Footwear: Sturdy trainers with good grip or light walking boots.
  • Layers: A light, breathable jacket. The riverside path under the bridge can be breezy even in May.

The End Destination: East Village Café

Located in the heart of Clifton’s historic arcade, this is the ultimate spot to refuel. It’s 100% plant-based, but even the most dedicated dairy lovers rave about their cakes.

• Must Try: Their famous Cardamom Buns or a slice of their seasonal layer cake.
• Vibe: Bright, airy, and filled with plants, perfect for a post-walk wind-down.

Know Before You Go

• Dog Friendly: Well-behaved dogs are more than welcome to join us! To ensure everyone's comfort, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times during the walk and inside the café.
• Parking: Clifton is busy on weekends; try the West End Multi-Storey or check for "Pay & Display" on the Downs.
