PRESIDENT'S APRIL MESSAGE ....LOOKING FORWARD
Firstly, can I just say I hope you, your family and friends remain in good health and spirits.
Our industry has had to respond, like many others, quickly and uniquely to massive change. On the whole, and despite some unhelpful rhetoric at times from those we elect, it has responded efficiently and with foresight to keep us in contact with and serving those that matter: our customers and our own people.
Considerable thanks go to all those often behind the scenes, being Support,IT,Security,Cleaning and Catering colleagues who keep us going.
I also thank IICG Council and New Gen Council for responding to change. A lot of work has gone into events which have now had to be cancelled/postponed but enthusiasm and new ideas have never wavered from any of them to keep serving the membership.
In summary:
2020 Dinner now Friday 9th October
2021 Dinner now Friday 23rd April
AGM to be held via digital conference call on Thursday 30th April
Annual Quiz to be postponed to most likely September; watch this space for an interim online event
Exams on hold until July and October. Well done if you squeezed a March pass in at the exam centre
Charity Golf Day now Friday 4th September
Cheltenham 3 Peaks Challenge now Saturday 5th September
We have had 3 CPD webinars in March enjoyed by 160 members. We will continue to go down that route until we all meet again,don't know when, don't know where but I am sure it will be a sunny day....
