PRESIDENT'S FEBRUARY MESSAGE

We have had 2 very well attended CPD events in January and we will now look to have the Bank of England Financial briefing as an annual event such was the interest and feedback. Thanks to our speakers Donna Kehoe and the ever reliable Alan Chandler.

Many thanks to all those who helped and contributed to our Cake Sale/Big Walk and Foodbank appeals, both events happening in January. There has been lots of social media on both but we have over 100kg of food and £1500 for the Animal Shelter as a consequence of your and your employers efforts. Thankyou.

The award season is upon us not just in Hollywood but in the real word of IICG.
Our Annual Dinner (now at 200+) will see the Achiever of the Year awarded again. Nomination and criteria forms went out in January. Please go to our website to find them again as we seek nominations by 1st March 2020.

The annual CII awards have also been launched. If you feel you would like your Local Institute to put through a nomination in any category, please do contact me. The list of applicable awards is here https://www.cii.co.uk/news-insight/news/articles/cii-2020-awards-open/90204

Delighted to launch our 2020 Quiz Night; always well attended and teams can be booked at https://cms.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/umbraco/preview/?id=34908#?id=34908

Finally, it was good to see the full CII results for Local Institute grant rewards for 2020 with our own LI ranked 7th out of 56 for overall delivery and 2nd in the 1000-2000 member range band. This is a terrific reflection of all of the member and council volunteers coming together and it has been great to play a small part in it.

Plenty more to report on next month and as always go to our website for the very latest https://cms.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/cheltenham-gloucester/home/

With best wishes

Simon McGill
