Overview:

Understanding the structure and the legislative framework of Enterprise Investment Schemes, considering their suitability, risk factors, due diligence and the interaction with professional connections, such as solicitors and accountants.

Ingenious Capital Management are EIS specialists and have kindly agreed to provide a financial adviser orientated generic training session.

Objectives:

At the end of this CPD event, the delegate will be able to identify:

  • The changing EIS legislative environment and their associated tax reliefs.

  • The range of EIS solutions and their selection.

  • How to identify potential clients for EIS and how to assess client suitability.

  • The time frames for claiming the various EIS tax reliefs and how best to utilise them

Speaker biography:

Matt Dickens

Matt is an Investment Director in the Client Relationship Team, responsible for developing relationships with investors and their advisers.

Having graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Matt served as an Army officer for 8 years, primarily in the Royal Horse Artillery. On leaving the Army he became a consultant, and then manager, in the Financial Services Division of KPMG, with a focus on Investment Banking and Asset Management.

Subsequently, he has worked as a private client adviser at both a US Fund Manager and then Close Brothers Asset Management before joining Ingenious.

Matt holds the Level 6 Private Client Investment Advice & Management qualification, is both a Chartered Wealth Manager and Member of the Securities and Investments Institute (CISI).

Richard Nichol

Richard is an Investment Manager in the Client Relationship Team, responsible for developing relationships with investors and their advisers across the south west of England and Wales.

Prior to joining Ingenious, Richard worked for PIA first capital where he was managing the day to day sales initiatives, along with a number of corporate relationships for their Investment Management programme. Prior to this Richard worked for a large global foreign exchange specialist within their investment broking division, Moneycorp Markets, advising investors on a range of Equities, Foreign Exchange (FX) and Futures markets.

Richard holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Stirling, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and has completed level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
