12:30 pm – 1:30 pm (UK time)
    • Lisa McGill Dip CII, Tap.dip, Learning and Development Business Partner, Ageas Insurance UK Ltd

Do you sabotage your own success? Do your emotions sometimes dictate your life?

This session is aimed at CII/PFS members with an interest in self-development as well as those leaders and business mentors who are responsible for others achieving their personal and business targets.

Growth Mindset is based on Carol S Dweck Ph.D Self Theories. Dweck is one of the world’s leading researchers in the field of motivation and is a professor of Psychology at Stratford University. Her research focused on why people succeed and how to foster success.

The Chimp Mind Management Model was created by Prof Steve Peters who is best known for his motivational work for British cycling, England’s footballers and Team GB stars. The model, which is also used by leading businesses, is based on scientific facts and principles to help you develop yourself and choose your emotions around everyday situations.

This session will provide some insight into some of the theory and help you consider how developing your mindset and emotional resilience can help you achieve your goals.

At the end of the session, attendees will:

  • Have a basic understanding of mindset characteristics
  • Have an overview of the elements to focus on to create a growth mindset
  • Understand the importance of feedback, mistakes and failure to help strengthen a growth mindset and build resilience
  • Be able to consider how this fits with the culture in their business
