Ipswich CII Lockdown as told by Sarah Deacon

This week we hear from Immediate Past President, Sarah Deacon.

"I have been very fortunate that lockdown for me has been a time where I have been able to slow down and re-focus. I know that is not the case for many, and I take my hat off to those juggling various jobs, home-schooling, working on the frontline and caring for others.

I enjoy working from home and have set myself up with everything I need! The extra time I’ve gained from not commuting has meant I’ve been able to dive into the stack of books that were sat on the side waiting to be read (there may also have been a small Amazon over-order, oops, but you can never have too many books right?!); and go for long walks, exploring areas near me that I didn’t even know were there.

It was my birthday a few weeks ago too, and whilst it was very different to birthdays I’ve had before, my very thoughtful friends and family made it one to remember – including delivery of this gorgeous cake from fellow Council member and baking queen, Jess Addison!"
