Vulnerable Customers

On the 21st March we were treated to an interesting and thought provoking presentation by Alan Chandler on the subject of Vulnerable Customers, an important area for the entire financial services sector.
Alan explained the meaning the phrase of “vulnerable customers” by numerous examples, demonstrating that a number of different organisations have often taken advantage of individual customers, by charging exorbitant premiums or repudiating claims, rather than offering support. Again, Alan explained how assistance could be provided.
Alan also took the opportunity to demonstrate that the treatment of vulnerable customers is fundamental to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), which permeates the work of the financial services sector. On occasions, the insurance industry is found wanting in this regard.
A thoroughly entertaining and enlightening session for the high number of delegates who attended.
