Special General Meeting

Re: Special General Meeting – 15^th January at 18.30

A Special General Meeting of the Insurance Institute of Luton & St Albans is being held to consider and if thought fit to agree the following motion:

THAT

The Council of the Insurance Institute of Luton & St Albans be authorised to change the name of the institute to ‘The Insurance Institute of Luton & Hertfordshire’ and amend its constitution accordingly.

Date: Tuesday 15^th January 2019

Time: 18.30 - 19.00

Venue: The Sun Hotel, Sun Street, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG5 1AF

You are invited to attend to share your views and vote on the proposal.

The rationale for changing our name is to reflect our larger geographical area. Following the closure of the Watford institute, our members are now based from Tring to Bishops Stortford and from Rickmansworth to Royston, a much wider region than our current name suggests. In our view, the rebrand will allow us to be more inclusive of our wider membership and engage more employers.

The CII and our neighbouring institutes have been consulted and have not raised any objection. This is due process before we can put it to you - our members.
