The family-building years are financially the most pressured decade of most people's lives. Mortgages, childcare, career changes, and competing goals all arrive at once — and pensions are usually the first thing quietly deprioritised. This session helps people in their 30s make deliberate trade-offs rather than accidental ones.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Recognise how the financial priorities of the 30s differ from those of the 20s and 40s
2. Understand how short pauses or contribution freezes create long-term pension gaps
3. Identify where protection planning becomes non-negotiable in this life stage
4. Apply a simple framework for balancing housing, childcare, savings, and pension contributions
5. Have a practical checklist to review their own position and identify any gaps

Speaker Bio

Vignas (Vig) Gunasegaran CFA FPFS - Director, Redbridge Financial Ltd

Vig is a Chartered Financial Planner and Director of Redbridge Financial, an independent financial planning firm based in Hertfordshire.

He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA) designation and Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS).

He specialises in later life financial planning and vulnerable beneficiary trust work, supporting individuals and families through some of the most important financial decisions of their lives — pensions, estate planning, retirement income, and long-term financial security.

His approach is built on clarity. Financial decisions rarely fail because the maths is too hard; they fail because the choices feel too complex, the language too technical, or the timing too uncertain.

Vig works to remove those barriers, helping people understand not just what their decisions involve, but what they mean for the life they want to build.

Redbridge Financial Ltd is an appointed representative of Corbel Partners Limited, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
