A Pension by another name

Overview:

This presentation will build on the “Is LISA Nicer” presentation currently being delivered to PFS members via their Q2 meetings~. It will include the opportunity to discuss the key technical points which have been published so far, a comparison between LISA and pensions as long term savings plans and consideration of the planning issues that LISA would have to tackle if it becomes the retirement vehicle of choice.

Objectives:

At the end of this event, delegates will be able to identify:

• A good understanding of how LISA works
• A high level understanding of the complementary strengths of LISA and pension plans and the respective clients they may be suitable for
• An appreciation of the key challenges and potential solutions for consumers using either LISA or pensions to save for their retirement.

The presentation will commence with an overview of the PFS slides for those who could not attend the PFS meeting in Bristol. This will serve as a recap for those who did attend, and will be supplemented with a more in depth look at investment issues, particularly in relation to de-risking and life-styling.
