Webinar: The Consumer Duty Skills Toolkit - Part II
This session is being run in two webinars of one and half hours each. This is the second webinar, the first was scheduled on 8th March 2023. Two key pillars of the new Consumer Duty are consumer understanding and consumer support. With a move towards outcomes-based regulation, the need for a skills toolkit to stay on the right side of the regulation is critically important. During this session, you will learn skills based around: ➢ working in an outcomes-based regulatory environment ➢ communicating in a way that aids accessibility and understanding ➢ checking understanding to facilitate informed decision-making ➢ recognising and handling behavioural biases throughout the customer journey ➢ recognising and dealing with vulnerable customers The session is interactive and includes exercises and simulations that will help you practise the skills learnt and how to evidence outcomes. It is aimed at those working within the UK insurance and financial services industry.

Webinar: Understanding the basics of regulation in the UK insurance industry
This webinar looks to provide an overview of the history of regulation within the UK insurance industry, who are the main regulators, how do they regulate and why regulation is so essential. The presentation will examine the principle-based approach to regulation put in place by the UK regulators and how this differs from rules based regulation in many other countries. it will also look at the main aspects of regulation including fair treatment for customer, ICOBS, training and competence requirements and solvency margins. All staff need to have an overview of how regulation applies to the insurance industry within which they work, and this presentation will provide this overview.

The 'Annual' Quiz is back!! We are pleased to be holding the CII Quiz again for the first time since 2019. Cost: £12.00 per person (inc food). There is a maximum of 6 persons per team. Quiz Prizes and Raffle Prizes to be won! Our charity for the quiz this year is the Morriston Food Bank. All profits from the night will be donated to the Food Bank and we are asking everyone to bring a food donation (tin of soup, packet of biscuits etc) As with all our social events the quiz is open to Institute members and non-members who are engaged in the Insurance Industry, bring along your family and friends.
