Webinar: How to create and manage a safe psychological work environment in person and virtually

  • Wed 27 Apr 10:00 am – 11:00 am
  • Online
    • Susan Heaton-Wright, SuperStar Communicator

There is significant evidence that individuals’ performance is negatively impacted when they feel unsafe or frightened. This could be caused by micro aggressions; a toxic work environment; bullying or even individuals being ignored or constantly interrupted. We want talent to thrive not leave! And sadly I have heard of incredible talent leaving organisations due to the negative environment. Whilst these environments need to change, we can only change ourselves and how we respond to these situations. We can make a more informed choice about how we respond, if we understand what happens neuroscientfically. once we are consciously aware of what is happening we can start to respond differently, as well as identify when others are being affected by the situation. Using our training and knowledge of neuroscience and expertise in spoken communication, we have created a unique and invaluable course to support talent.

Webinar: How to correctly advise your clients on setting correct indemnity periods under Business Interruption insurance policies.

  • Fri 22 Apr 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
  • Online

The Insurance Institute of Cardiff invite you to a webinar on How to correctly advise your clients on setting correct indemnity periods under Business Interruption insurance policies. About the session: Brokers increasingly face Pi claims for failing to advise clients correctly on setting appropriate Business Interruption indemnity periods, and with all the unfortunate events occurring in the world at the moment, making rebuild materials very scare, never has there been a better opportunity to engage your policyholders on this subject. Recently a broker was successfully sued for failing to give any guidance around indemnity periods to a manufacturer who had a twelve-month indemnity period. Nothing was ever recorded by the broker about the fact that twelve months was almost certainly inadequate, in fact it was the Loss adjuster after the fire took place that educated the client on setting correct indemnity periods, unfortunately too late for all concerned. This webinar looks to make sure this does not happen to you or your staff. This one-hour webinar provided by Alan Chandler, one of the most popular presenters in the UK, will examine all the different factors a client needs to take into account when setting an indemnity period. The presentation will include guiding clients who are on a Gross Profit Bi basis, a Gross Revenue or Fees basis and will also include how an Increased Cost of working only policy should deal with prospective losses over 12 months.

The Art of Unknowing: learning how to rethink and unlearn to make better

  • Wed 06 Apr 9:30 am – 10:30 am
  • Online
    • Jeff Heasman, Insurance Upskill

We live in an ever-changing world in both our personal and professional lives. Despite this situation, we often hesitate to rethink and instead try to rely on past experiences or our own domain experience to find solutions. However, one of the most important cognitive skills in a world full of noise and data that is ever-changing, is to be able to rethink our assumptions, put aside experience when necessary, and find novel solutions. Through learning to rethink our assumptions and learning to unlearn we are able to make better strategic decisions for ourselves and our clients, create more collaborative cultures and harness creativity. This webinar will teach you how to find wisdom and happiness through new ways of thinking.

Webinar: The Highway Code Changes 2022 And Their Implications For Motor Insurance

  • Tue 15 Mar 10:00 am – 11:00 am
  • Online
    • Bernard Thornton FCII

On 29 January 2022 some significant alterations were made to the Highway Code, known and trusted for many decades as the ‘Road Users’ Bible’. This new edition changes many common perceptions as to the rules and etiquette of the road, for instance, priorities at junctions, awareness, spacing and the creation of a ‘hierarchy’ of road users. Not only are these amendments of fundamental importance to any road user, they will undoubtedly have a bearing on many RTA liability decisions affecting everyone from pedestrians to HGV drivers. One aspect of concern over the new rules is a perceived lack of publicity and hence a possible knowledge gap on the part of road users. This webinar goes into detail on the provisions of the new Code and how they can be communicated to clients. It also looks at how they are likely to affect different classes of Motor insurance. The webinar will be of value to everyone using a public road. Specifically it will be of value to insurance personnel dealing with Motor underwriting, claims or client facing in any way.
